Wye River community flocks together

Many of the locals came to Wye River fire brigade - by foot, vehicle and air - as a native King Parrot inspected the broadcast gear before we went live tonight for the October Volunteer Forum.

Host Wye River reflected on the 10-year anniversary of the major fire in the town that affected so many during the festive period of 2015. Captain Andrew Hack was joined by several brigade members to discuss the devastating impact and lessons learned.
Highlights included some of the initiatives driven by the brigade including an interactive Google map detailing water sources and fridge magnet with QR code that assists the transient population of a tourism town.
We had special guest Dr Helen Szoke provide a live update on the progress of the review into the 2022 External Review of Culture and Issues Management.
On the panel DCO Rohan Luke outlined the progress being made in the training space, in particular the Learning Management System (LMS).
There is so much to take in from Wye River that this forum feels like an early Christmas gift, 10 years after the residents had their Christmas Day family catch-ups heavily impacted.
