Buggies get members moving at Central Highlands

Two new eight-seater buggies are now available to transport members quickly and safely around Central Highlands Training Campus.

Funded through community donations to the CFA Public Fund, the buggies provide a practical way for members to move between training props, meeting and meal areas across the expansive campus.

The purchase follows member feedback that travel between these facilities was impacting on training schedules and reducing the time for learning.

Based on this feedback, the Operational Doctrine and Training team worked closely with stakeholders to develop a solution that would deliver long-term benefits for members and training programs.

By reducing travel time between locations, instructors and participants can maximise the time spent on training. The buggies also make it easier and more comfortable for members and attendees to move around the campus.

ACFO Training Delivery David Maxwell said the investment highlighted the ongoing commitment of the training team to continuous improvement and responding to member feedback.

“The addition of the two vehicles is expected to streamline campus operations, particularly during large training programs where participants are frequently required to move between facilities,” David said.

“By enhancing mobility across the site, we’re aiming to create a more efficient, accessible, and positive training environment for everyone who attends.”

Although the buggies will be based and Central Highlands, David said they could also be made available to support large events and activities such as the CFA/VFBV State Championships.
