North West Region unites for 16 Days of Activism
Staff from District 2 and North West Region joined together to mark 16 Days of Activism.
Staff from District 2 and North West Region came together earlier this week to acknowledge the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which runs annually from 25 November to 10 December.
This initiative aims to raise awareness and inspire action to end violence against women.
Since 2015, both the district and region have actively participated in and supported Greater Bendigo Against Family Violence events, workshops, and activities during the 16-day period. These efforts reflect a strong commitment to fostering safer communities and promoting respect and equality.
North West Region Deputy Chief Officer Trevor Weston emphasised the importance of the campaign.
“Today we recognise the importance of 16 Days of Activism. These days are not just symbolic; they are a reminder that change begins with awareness and commitment,” DCO Weston said.
The event served as a powerful reminder that collective action and education are key to breaking the cycle of violence. Staff reaffirmed their dedication to creating a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.
