Mia Mia Fire Brigade service awards total 610 years

Mia Mia Fire Brigade members were awarded service medals at a well attended presentation evening.

 

Eighteen members with a total of 610 years of service received recognition. 

John Dempster topped the list with 65 years of service, and three members of the Ryan family totalled 130 years.

Many of the medal recipients are operational members, while others continue to support the brigade in non-operational roles. 

Colin Smith was awarded the National Service Medal as well as a 20-year service medal. 

The brigade put on an excellent supper after the presentation. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the evening. 

The brigade is proud to have such dedicated people in our community. Congratulations to all the medal recipients.
