Junior Leader Forum Roadshow 2025
Junior leaders in action on the PAD at Bangholme
For the second year running, the Junior Leader Forum continued its roadshow format to keep Junior leaders informed and connected.
With the success of the 2024 Junior Leader Forum roadshow format, the 2025 roadshow again ventured across the state. This year, there were two forums held at Wangaratta (6 September) and Bangholme (20 September) VEMTCs, and an online forum on 31 August. Attendees at the VEMTC forums were given an added bonus of having a go at hot fire training on the PADs.
These forums are great for Junior leaders to come together to obtain insights and ideas from peers and enhance professional development associated with the Junior Volunteer Development Program (JVDP).
This year's forums focused on:
- Child safety, including updates following Working with Children Check changes in CFA
- Considering the Junior lifecycle in CFA, covering recruitment, pathways, development, recognition and retention
- JVDP program design, development and resources
- VEMTC Junior accessibility and benefits.
Throughout the forums, Junior leaders took the opportunity to come together to collaborate and brainstorm to enhance the JVDP and their Junior Brigade programs and take lessons learned home from their peers.
Given the continued support for the Junior Leader Forum roadshows, we look forward to creating a 2026 Forum that suits Junior leaders and supports and enhances the future of the JVDP.
