From fireground to classroom: new footage and images added to the Digital Library

The Digital Library has just added two new collections highlighting both CFA response and community education.

The first features compelling video of an Ultra Heavy Tanker (UHT) working a fast-moving grassfire south-west of Moyston in 2024. The footage shows the tanker crew pulling up a rapidly running edge - a powerful display of teamwork and suppression tactics in open country. You can find this vision on the Digital Library homepage under “Various Grass Fires,” or simply search “grass fire” under the media type “video.”

Also newly available is a set of standout images from the Fire Wise Kids program, showing CFA instructors in the classroom guiding students through practical fire-safety concepts. The photos highlight hands-on learning and engaged participation - reinforcing how early education helps build safer habits at home and in the community.

Together, these additions capture two sides of CFA’s mission: rapid, well-coordinated response on the fireground, and the prevention work that starts with the next generation. Members are encouraged to explore the new items in the Digital Library to support training, presentations, and local communications.
