CFA Board members have toured the State Control Centre (SCC) - Victoria’s primary control centre for the management of emergencies - in advance of the upcoming fire season.
Through the visit they gained valuable insight into its operations and a close-up perspective on statewide emergency response.
“Walking through the SCC, you could feel the gravity of its mission. It’s not just a facility - it’s a lifeline for Victoria during an emergency,” Board Chair Jo Plummer said.
“Hearing about the State Control Centre's role in responding to past emergencies, we were deeply impressed by the integration of intelligence, logistics and communications. It’s clear that every second counts here, and nothing is left to chance.
“The level of coordination and technological sophistication here is world-class. It’s reassuring to know this is the nerve centre protecting our communities.”
