Volunteer Driving Training project continues

The Volunteer Driving Training project continues to deliver additional driving training opportunities for members. 

 

Heavy vehicle licences  

Support for members to obtain a heavy vehicle licence (HVL) will be available until June 2027, with an additional four accredited licence providers now available. 

Members can nominate through the Learning Hub and book in with one of CFA’s partner providers as soon as they are approved to complete the training by their captain or supervisor.   

After obtaining your licence, make sure you update your driver licence details via Members Online in accordance with SOP 12.03. 

Brigade administrators with the appropriate permission levels can update this information on your behalf. All driver licence data is stored in an encrypted format to maintain security and privacy.

On-road and Off-road driving courses 

In addition, a further 24 on-road and 12 off-road driving courses to our members across the next 12 months. 

Members may nominate for any course available across the state and they will be supported for accommodation and meal expenses related to attending the course. 

The Volunteer Driving Training Project, which is funded by the Victorian Government to June 2027, aims to enhance CFA’s operational capability by providing volunteers with the opportunity to upskill through heavy vehicle licencing as well as both on-road and off-road driving.
