Bushfire support and recovery resources available
A range of support services and recovery resources are available to assist members and their families in the wake of the 2025-26 bushfire season.
The Organisational Wellbeing team has developed a central hub on Members Online, making it easier to access the support and information you may need.
This hub includes resources to help you understand common emotional responses after major incidents, along with practical strategies for managing stress and supporting others during challenging times.
- Direct links to government assistance
- Guidance for those impacted by the fires
- Personal stories from members, exploring post-traumatic growth, recovery and balancing community expectations with personal needs.
In addition to immediate support, members can explore training opportunities focused on long-term recovery, resilience, and how to support yourselves and each other.
Existing wellbeing services continue to be available to members and their immediate families including the Member Assistance Program, Peer Support and the Chaplaincy Program.
“Members are encouraged to explore the available resources and seek support early,” Manager Organisational Wellbeing Suzanne Leckie said.
“Coping with loss and trauma isn’t about ‘toughing it out’. Whether you need practical recovery advice or emotional support, a wide range of services is available - so you don’t have to face recovery alone.”
