Apply now to showcase your program, initiative or research at an emergency management conference in 2026
Are you interested in showcasing your research, initiative or program at an emergency management conference?
CFA members once again have the opportunity to showcase their work to the wider emergency service community at the upcoming 2026 conferences.
The AFAC Conference features inspirational keynote speakers and thought leaders from across the emergency management sector. Following keynote sessions the conference splits into a multi-stream format which includes the IFE, ADRC and WAFA conferences.
The 2026 theme is 'Leading Together: Integrity, Inclusion and Impact' and will be held from 18-20 August in Melbourne.
The purpose of a conference abstract is to provide a concise summary of your research/project/initiative, allowing conference organisers and attendees to quickly understand the scope, significance, and key findings of your work.
In essence, a conference abstract is a critical tool for sharing your research/project/initiative with the emergency services community, facilitating knowledge exchange and fostering connections at an upcoming conference. Don’t miss this chance for you and your team to share your ideas and be part of shaping the conversation.
Information about all conferences themes and supporting topics are available on the Conferences Members Online page.
As these conferences are being held in Melbourne this year, this is a great opportunity for CFA to showcase our initiatives, programs and research to this wider audience, and may allow for greater CFA representation in conference submissions this year.
Conference themes are varied and are not all operationally focused, so we encourage you to send submissions from your respective areas. This is a great professional development opportunity for all members.
An internal selection process will be conducted to identify and endorse all presenters and facilitators. Submissions are to be completed via this link, also available on the Conference Members Online page, by the extension date of Tuesday 27 January.
