100% of Morwell members have a WWCC

 

CFA has introduced the new Working with Children Clearance policy, which requires CFA employees and volunteers in roles with higher levels of leadership or community interface and/or access to children and young people to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC).

 

This policy comes into effect from 30 September 2025, however Morwell Fire Brigade has been a long-time advocate of WWCCs, with 100% of members registered.

“As part of the Brigade Management Team, we made it a policy that every member had to have a Working with Children Check.” Captain Wayne Draper explained.

“I think it’s a good policy for us in terms of building trust with the community.”
