New AFDRS weather product released on EM-COP
Daily estimates of bushfire danger released on EM-COP and Tarnook.
As part of the continued implementation of AFDRS in Victoria a new 'Daily estimates of bushfire danger' product has been released on EM-COP and Tarnook this week.
This is an interactive tabular product that displays forecast Fire Behaviour Index by percentage of spatial coverage and duration at readiness levels across both incident control centre and regional control centre footprints. Fire Danger Index results can also be switched on and used for comparison.
This release also sees the uplift of the code behind the Fire Danger Rating reports so that results are always consistent between the two products.
This product replaces the old 'Fire Danger Index daily estimates' available via FireWeb and EM-COP. The existing product will continue to be available on FireWeb for a while, but EM-COP links have been updated.
Members can access this and other AFDRS weather products by using your Fireweb username and password. Fire agency personnel without a FireWeb login can register for access. Registrations from other organisations will need to contact FFM Support. These requests are assessed on a case-be-case basis according to need.
More information is available in the AFDRS Victorian Product Update, and you can find more AFDRS resources and a video explaining the new weather products on EMCOP > Desktop > Operations > AFDRS Implementation.
