Men’s Health Week 2026: Time to tune in to your health
Let’s be honest: Men can often be better at maintaining their CFA equipment and gear than they are at checking their own physical and mental health.
Men’s Health Week (15–21 June) is the perfect reminder that looking after your health isn't a sign of weakness - it’s the ultimate sign of strength.
Too often, we treat our bodies like they’re bulletproof, ignoring the early warning signs or delaying those essential check-ups. But staying proactive, listening to your body and getting ahead of potential issues is how you ensure you're firing on all cylinders for the long haul - for your family, your brigade and yourself!
Normalising these conversations is the first step. Let’s make looking after yourself as standard as checking your PPE.
Men’s Health supported by CFA
Building trust in your own health journey starts with knowing you have support in your corner. CFA Health Services is here to provide members’ access to health supports that are confidential and straightforward.
This Men’s Health Week, we’re challenging members to take these three steps:
- Own your check-up: Stop waiting for a good time. Schedule a regular check-up with your GP. If it’s easier, tap into our CFA’s resources and speak to your brigade about accessing the free Health Watch program.
- Keep moving: Physical health is the foundation of everything we do. Stay tuned for details on our upcoming STEPtember challenge, designed to get everyone moving and connected.
- Pass it on: If you’ve engaged with a health program or read something that gave you a new perspective, share it with a mate or a colleague. One conversation might be the nudge someone else needs to take action.
Health Watch Program
Your heart is the engine of your life. Through the Health Watch Program, CFA members have access to free, confidential Heart Health Checks delivered directly by CFA health professionals.
