Meet Coordinator District 4 Learning & Development, Paula Cook.

What is the most favourite aspect of working with your team members?

On a serious note: The respect and support we have for each other makes coming to work a pleasure for me. We all value and share our skills and knowledge and take time to check in with each other. On a lighter note, it’s probably our coffee club!

What was the most interesting or rewarding project you have been involved in whilst working at CFA?

The General Fire Fighter Version 2. It has been many things - both interesting and challenging - but I find it extremely rewarding to be able to troubleshoot issues and support our new members through their learning journey.

List one (or more) things you can't live without, when at work.

Coffee and a laugh.

Tell us about a hobby, interest, or achievement you have that might surprise your colleagues?

In 2019 I received our local Lions Club Community Service Award. I thought I was at our local Lions Club’s Annual General Meeting as a representative from our Football Netball Club. When the award was being presented, I was busy getting a drink at the bar, chatting away to the bartender -who happened to be one of my fellow mums from school - when we realised the things they were saying were about me! Very embarrassing.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

United Kingdom - I love watching shows like Escape to the Country - the countryside, history and architecture are so beautiful, the only problem is, I am a country girl at heart, and you can’t get me out of our country. I always holiday in Australia!

What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day at work?

When my family have retired for the evening, no more talking required, I like to watch a little television with my two boys: Percy the cat and Bruno the Jack Russell.
