March with us at Midsumma Pride March's 30th anniversary

The Midsumma Pride March is being held on 2 February. This year marks the 30th anniversary celebrating LGBTAQI+ pride and unity.

The march is an opportunity to visibly support the LGBTQIA+ community by demonstrating our commitment to creating and maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment that enables all people to reach their full potential and to thrive.

As in previous years, CFA will join the march alongside our emergency services colleagues to support our LGBTQIA+ members, friends, family, allies, and colleagues.

Why is this event important to CFA?

It is a great honour for CFA to be invited to attend the Midsumma Pride March, especially this year’s 30th anniversary. We would love to get as many members as we can to show our support.

Midsumma Pride March is more than just a parade. Pride marches have been taking place since 1969 by LGBTQIA+ communities in many parts of the world and have been critical and fundamental in building a safer world with better outcomes for people.

For us as a volunteer fire service, we need to be innovative in our approach. To do this we need to attract and cherish people with different ideas and a range of abilities from across the many different communities in Victoria. Pride March is a great opportunity to show people from the LGBTQIA+ community, and those within our organisation, that CFA is behind them all the way.

We’d love to see you there.
