Launch of Emerging Young Leaders Mentoring Program

Mentorship Mentorship

A new leadership mentoring program is launching this week.

This six-month program is aimed at 18 to 30 year olds with leadership aspirations and experienced adults who can share and transfer their valuable knowledge as mentors.

The program is designed to equip young people with essential leadership and management skills, ensure the continuity of institutional knowledge, increase retention, operational efficiency and effectiveness, and improve volunteer satisfaction and engagement.

The program is a blend of one-on-one, group, face-to-face and online sessions focused on leadership skills such as communication, time management and teamwork.

An important part of the program, and likely to be a highlight, are the two in-person conferences where the mentor and mentee partnerships will spend valuable time over the weekends experiencing teamwork, interactive sessions, scenarios, workshops and discussions.

At the end of the program in August, participants will enjoy a recognition evening, bringing the whole group together to acknowledge their efforts and development over the six months.

In CFA, we use mentoring to support personal, professional, leadership and career development. The Emerging Young Leaders Mentoring Program has been designed to meet the needs of our emerging young leaders by focusing on CFA’s strategic outcomes such as increasing and valuing generational diversity and investing in, and better equipping, our leaders.

Expressions of interest open Monday 10 February for positions in the program and participants will be considered from new and existing CFA members based on the selection criteria.

Express your interest in the Emerging Young Leaders Mentoring Program if you are an 18 to 30 year old with leadership aspirations or an experienced member who can share your valuable knowledge.
