Flooding forces Volunteer Forum venue change
Flooding resulted in a last-minute switch of venue for this month's Volunteer Forum which was supposed to be broadcast live from the corporate marquee at the State Championships in Mooroopna.
Storms and heavy rain struck various areas across the state last Thursday including Mooroopna Recreation Reserve where the forum was supposed to be broadcast from.
After a quick rearragement of tables and chairs in Shepparton Incident Control Centre, the forum still managed to start on time at 7pm.
Chief Officer Jason Heffernan and a packed panel tackled various topics ranging from the Fire Services Implementation Monitor Year 2 Report, the Fire District Review Panel Boundary Report, Fire Medical Response, Diversity & Inclusion and the changing face of Championships.
DCO Jean Dyzel also gave her final training update before she moves on from CFA.
On the panel were Neil Labbett, State Rural Competition Committee Chair; Samantha Collins, VFBV State President; Kaylene Jones, DCO Operational Performance and Capability; Fiona Macken, Fire Medical Response Program Manager; Terri Wright, A/Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Chris Pallot, District Mechanical Officer; and Amelia Delahey and Teagan Kubeil from Euroa Fire Brigade.
