Applications open: 2025 Australian National Fire Cadet Championships

 

CFA has once again been invited to participate in the Australian National Fire Cadet Championships (AFCCs) being held at Douglas Park, NSW, during the September school holidays.

 

We are now seeking applications from eligible Junior members aged 14 to 15 (at time of event) as well as Junior leaders. More information can be found in the application forms below.

CFA has competed at the AFCCs since they began in 2007. This biennial event is open to Junior members of emergency services from across Australia and gives our CFA participants an excellent opportunity to build nationwide networks, learn from interstate peers, and participate in a program than enhances the engagement and recognition of Junior members.

CFA will be taking 12 Juniors, four Junior Leaders and one CFA staff member to the Championships. The teams will leave Melbourne on Sunday 28 September (one day before the Championships) and return Thursday 2 October 2025.

Participation is open to all Junior members who will be 14 or 15 years old during the period 28/09/2025 to 2/10/2025 to participate as part of the Victorian State Team at the Championships.

Applicants do not need championship or competition running experience. All AFCC 2025 event activities are run to NSWRFS rules and are not aligned to current CFA championship events.

CFA will be covering the cost of all flights, accommodation, meals and transport during the trip. Participants will be required to arrange their own transportation to and from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) and to and from our training day at Ballan.
