About the Supplementary Alerting Service
SAS works alongside the existing EAS paging system to give members increased functionality and enhanced communication during incident response.
In addition to providing members with the ability to confirm their response to events, the free SAS app allows you to view response times, chat with fellow members and view responding members’ core qualifications and competencies.
Tens of thousands of CFA members are active SAS users.
You can find the app by searching for Supplementary Alerting Service in both the Android and Apple app stores. You can access the desktop version here.
Regular releases of SAS include priority development work based on feedback from our members.
Please note that the EAS pagers remain the officially endorsed primary alerting method for CFA members because of their reliability and extensive coverage across Victoria. SAS is a supplementary application intended to be used together with the pagers. As such, CFA members are expected to continue to use and carry their pagers.
