Masterclass in driving awareness
One hundred brigade drivers from Maroondah Group and Knox Group gathered together for an enlightening presentation.
The presentation was given on 5 September by Assistant Chief Fire Officer Paul Carrigg, who is a seasoned professional with a background in crash investigation for CFA and a previous career with Victoria Police.
Paul's presentation was a masterclass in driving awareness, touching on crucial policy and legislation aspects and recounting major collisions within the fire service. It was a session that left an enduring impact on everyone present.
The members of both groups walked away from the session with valuable insights and knowledge. They returned to their respective brigades, inspired to review and enhance their driving practices.
Knox SES deserves special recognition for generously providing its excellent facility, which accommodated the large assembly with ease. This collaboration made the event possible and was greatly appreciated.
A sincere thank you goes out to Commander Richard Hill and Paul Carrigg for their exceptional presentation, which made all present consider the huge responsibility of driving safely when responding to emergencies and ensuring all members arrive on scene without incident.
