Scoresby Fire Brigade want the help of current CFA firefighters, to respond to their weekday emergencies.

Current CFA firefighters are invited to gain experience with one of the state's busiest brigades, for the low cost of your work-from-home comfort.

Scoresby Fire Brigade is 100 per cent volunteer operated and responds to 500 jobs per annum, managing a 25km² primary area and routinely supporting into both FRV Divisions A and B.

We have a robust and dedicated membership, though a major portion are 9-5 workers which can leave us light-on during business hours.

We're after CFA members who have the flexibility to work or study from anywhere, to set up at our station and respond to occasional jobs during the day.

Give us a hand turning trucks out to local emergencies, and in exchange, we're offering the uniqueness of our fast-paced, interesting urban area to quickly develop your skills.

Our Class-5-Urban risk profile includes high-rise buildings and high-density residential zones, industrial estates, shopping precincts, bushland and 80-100km/h roads. We roll a Scania pumper, 3.4C tanker and specialist, one-off Hoselayer. There's heaps going on over here in the eastern suburbs.

Averaging three jobs every two days, firefighters who respond with us can expect frequent exposure to:

• FIP activations, industrial and residential structure fires
• MVAs, car fires and other non-structures
• Grass and scrub fires
• Hazardous material emergencies
• Requests for assistance from the public and other emergency agencies

For your home brigade, this means a firefighter with a diversified skillset and better understanding of how CFA operations work in an urban area. 

For your CFA volunteer firefighting career, this means expedited operational experience and higher likelihood of exercising your qualifications.

Daytime responder arrangements are flexible, and based on the weekday, daytime hours you could offer us without compromising the response of your home brigade. 

For now, we're calling out to firefighters who have qualifications which match the needs of our risk profile. Either:

• Internal structural firefighters
• Endorsed Medium Rigid truck drivers
