Bangholme FOV/MCV Convention success

More than 50 members from across the state attended District 9’s Field Operations Vehicle (FOV) and Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) Convention at VEMTC Bangholme on Sunday 6 October.

 

Two of the three CFA Mobile Command Vehicles (D8 Edithvale and Wangaratta) were in attendance, along with eight Field Operation Vehicles (D8 Westernport Group, D9 Warragul, D11 Bairnsdale, D27 Churchill, D22 Wunghnu, D8 Westernport Group, D20 Echuca, D24 Wodonga). 

As part of the event, members of Edithvale brigade presented on the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and demonstrated the various drone capability.

Networking opportunities throughout the day allowed members to view each other's vehicles, as well as share knowledge and understanding on how best to support incident management across the state. 

The day also included a presentation from CFA ACFO Operational Communications Jason Lawrence and Manager Communications Operations Mehmet Yusuf on current statewide initiatives and the strategic focus for FOVs and MCVs.

Event organiser and captain of District 9 Headquarters brigade Marianne Joy said feedback on the day was extremely positive, with members agreeing that it was good to hear about the projects happening at the state level as well as experience the different systems and set-ups used by brigades across their FOVs and the three MCVs.
