We have rolled out a series of enhancements to the Activity Reporting Tool (ART), aimed at making it easier for brigades to plan, record and report on community engagement activities.

These updates, shaped by member feedback, are designed to support both volunteers and Community Safety teams with more intuitive tools and improved data visibility.

What’s new in ART?

Members will notice several key improvements across the ART portal and application, including:

  • Updated homepage: New tabs—My ActivitiesMy Brigade, and My Group - make it easier to find and complete planned activities.
  • Enhanced promotion tools: A clearer pathway to promote events on the CFA website via the new Promote option.
  • Extended planning access: Activity planning tools are now available to all members, supporting better alignment with Brigade Community Engagement Plans.
  • Improved member search: Location data has been added to the CFA member search, enabling more accurate documentation of member involvement.
  • Volunteer recognition: CFA membership types are now included in recorded activities, making volunteer effort easier to track and report.
  • Engagement topic updates: Topics, resources and special interest groups have been refreshed to better reflect current engagement activities.
  • Expanded reporting fields: New fields in both standard and custom reports improve risk reporting and increase visibility of brigade efforts.
  • Refreshed dashboards: Regional dashboards have been updated for faster, clearer access to key engagement metrics.

Why use ART?

Recording your activity helps CFA build a clearer picture of how we contribute to fire prevention and preparedness across Victoria. It ensures volunteer efforts are recognised and resourced, plus supports CFA’s reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
