Do you know someone in CFA who has gone above and beyond to make a difference in the community?

You can recognise their dedication by nominating them for a 2025 Victorian Rotary Emergency Services Community Award.

The Victorian Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards (RESCA) recognise emergency services personnel who have gone above and beyond their normal role within emergency services and also reflect the Rotary motto of ‘Service above self’.

The awards consist of two levels:

  • Finalists from Victorian emergency services.
  • Two major winners: RESCA Vic Officer of the Year serving in a volunteer capacity; RESCA Vic Officer of the Year serving in a paid capacity.

The two major winners from each participating state are invited to the national awards event at Government House, Canberra, where two national winners will be announced. In 2023 the Victorian winner in the volunteer category, Graham Symons from Omeo Fire Brigade, won the national award. In 2024 the Victorian volunteer winner, Garry Luxford from Tooradin Fire Brigade, won the National award.

Anyone can nominate an individual, but self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations are now open and can be submitted here.

Guidelines for completing a nomination are on the RESCA awards website.

Nominations are now open and nominations close on 30 April 2025.
