CFA is updating several areas that impact the Section 29 inspection process.

Portal upgrades

The portal is being updated with new Child Safety questions.

New tools and resources

Inspection tools and process documents are now available on Members Online.

Standardised training targets

New capability targets are being rolled out based on vehicles/equipment, crewing, brigade class and shifts. These replace the old Brigade Operational Skills Profile (BOSP) targets and will be visible during your next inspection.

The accuracy of the new BOSP targets is reliant on correct and current data, and we ask brigades to ensure that the data inputted is up to date and accurate.

Please note: due to the diversity of CFA, the new target formula has identified some outliers, which we are working on resolving. During inspections in the coming year, consider the training targets or gaps as a means to grow capability across CFA, rather than a performance indicator.

Work will continue to further improve the Section 29 portal and process. Information regarding everything new can be found on Members Online, including how to provide feedback.
