There are six workshops available as part of a suite of new mental health and wellbeing training designed for CFA by CFA.

CFA’s new wellbeing workshop series is designed to support members to build resilience, learn how to have wellbeing conversations, build awareness of trauma and recognise changes in their own and other’s mental health and wellbeing.

Delivered by CFA’s Organisational Wellbeing team, the one-to-two-hour, face-to-face workshops include videos, practical information and personal stories from CFA members.

The workshops are the next stage in the rollout of a suite of training designed to increase understanding of psychological health and safety and the range of support available to CFA members.

“Prioritising and investing in our mental health and wellbeing has never been more crucial as we navigate through the challenges of our daily lives,” Manager Organisational Wellbeing Suzanne Leckie said.

“For our members, and anyone in emergency services, good mental health is the foundation of resilience especially as we get closer to the fire season.

“We say it a lot, but it is always true: our ability to protect and help others starts with protecting and helping ourselves.

“Good mental health is vital for decision-making and capability, and it has a ripple effect on those around us; fellow CFA members, family and the community at large.”
