Winning Road Rescue team demonstrate how they 'rain'
In wet conditions the competition-winning Werribee Road Rescue team demonstrated live why their skills are crucial at accidents during the May Volunteer Forum.
With insight from incident controller Daniel May, as well as commentary from Acting Chief Officer Garry Cook AFSM and Werribee Captain Michael Wells, viewers were granted access to the decision-making and timely actions taken by team members during road accidents.
In pouring rain, the team showed why they continually reign at state, national and international competitions.
Many hands were on deck both on and off the camera at Werribee, and members gave an insight into why with discussions about recruitment, retention and diversity of roles including the Wednesday crew.
We also heard about another award-winning initiative driven out of Werribee involving the running team, with firefighter Christina Zsori outlining the benefits of changing the colour of their running pants.
There are also some insightful videos including the monthly training update, Samoan firefighters undertaking fire investigation training and the latest Women’s Challenge Camp in the North East Region.
