West Region's Volunteer Sustainability Team come together
For the first time since the pandemic began, and after several false starts, the West Region Volunteer Sustainability Team finally came together. Over two days in early September the team regrouped, engaged and collaborated over the current workplans.
Halls Gap turned on the sunshine which enhanced the enthusiasm. There was a healthy level of optimism that the worst of COVID-19-impacted times are behind us and we can really get down to business.
The team was fortunate to have Acting West Region Deputy Chief Officer Adrian Gutsche attend on the first day, and join in the team-building activities along the way. VST members are looking forward to working with Adrian over the coming months.
Focus areas over the two days included:
- People Matter Survey results
- West Region’s Culture Improvement Program
- West Region VST expectations
- pre-season preparation and FDP operational support
- workplan priorities
- team collaboration on major projects
- Diversity and Inclusion Strategy update
- Updates from state working groups
- VST statewide standardised processes and funding programs.
The team walked away feeling reenergised and appreciative of the opportunity to meet face-to-face and regroup.
