Training Governance Policy launches
CFA Digital Library / https://digitallibrary.cfa.vic.gov.au
CFA’s new Training Governance Policy is designed to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our training programs.
Following consultation with members, this policy provides a structured framework to guide the management of all CFA training initiatives.
It ensures that all training packages, including awareness programs, are endorsed by the CFA’s Training Governance Committee before being released. This step guarantees alignment with member needs, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements and CFA's broader training goals.
Key benefits of the new policy include:
- Standardisation: Ensures consistent, high-quality training across all CFA regions
- Best practice: Promotes excellence in training design and delivery
- Strategic alignment: Aligns training initiatives with CFA’s strategic objectives
- Skill development: Identifies and addresses training gaps and evaluates regional programs for potential state-level rollout
- RTO compliance: Ensures adherence to RTO standards
- Accountability: Establishes clear roles and responsibilities for training decisions
- Collaboration: Fosters collaboration across CFA’s training functions
This policy also supports CFA's commitment to Recommendation 3 from the AFAC Independent Peer Review, which calls for a unified oversight of all CFA training under a single decision-making directorate.
Work has commenced to develop procedures that will further support the design, development and delivery of training across CFA. Two of these are currently available for consultation:
Other procedures are being developed and will be shared for feedback over the coming months.
