New Training Governance Policy launched
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Training Governance Policy, a key initiative designed to enhance the quality, consistency and governance of all training across CFA.
This policy outlines the processes for developing, delivering and approving training programs ensuring they meet CFA and regulatory standards.
Key highlights of the Training Governance Policy:
Approval requirement: All new training initiatives including awareness, induction and formal training programs must be reviewed and approved by the Training Governance Committee (TGC) before being rolled out. This ensures all programs are aligned with CFA needs and relevant compliance standards.
Types of training covered: The policy applies to various training types, awareness, induction and formal training requiring assessments and certifications. However it does not govern skill maintenance drills conducted by brigades.
Full definitions of each training type can be found in the glossary in the policy library.
Equity and access: The policy underscores our commitment to equitable access to training for all members, regardless of background, location, or specific needs, ensuring that training is inclusive and supports everyone’s growth and development.
What's next?
In the coming weeks, we will engage with Learning and Development teams to further discuss the policy’s impact on training areas. These discussions will cover:
- The implications of the policy on training development and delivery
- The approval process for upcoming training initiatives
- Support and resources available to ensure smooth compliance with the policy requirements.
We aim to make this transition as seamless as possible, and the upcoming discussions will ensure teams are well prepared.
The policy can be found in the policy library: Training Governance Policy / Document / CFA Policy Library
