In this month's training profile, we feature Karlie Stocker - Manager Learning & Development for South East Region.

Name: Karlie Stocker

Position: Manager Learning and Development

Department/district: South East Region

What is the most favourite aspect of working with your team members?

The collective genuine desire to support and improve training delivery in the South East Region, coupled with a growth mindset.

What was the most interesting or rewarding project you have been involved in whilst working at CFA?

The creation of SERTAC has been a very rewarding experience. While we are still in our infancy, the opportunity to create a space for representation from each district in the region, along with representation from our paid and volunteer instructor cohorts has created an opportunity for us to consider training from a strategic level as well as learn together. We have had some early wins and I am excited to see what this group can achieve next.

List one (or more) thing/s you can't live without, when at work.

Notepad and pen or my notes app.

Tell us about a hobby, interest or achievement you have that might surprise your colleagues?

Thanks to my grandfather, who was a wine merchant many years ago, I have fallen down the wonderful rabbit hole of learning about wine, which means I get to keep growing my cellar.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Italy. I am fortunate to have been there before, but I love the people, the food, the history and way of life.

What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day at work?

Taking our dog for a walk with my husband or a float session.
