Learning Hub update: Skills records and FDP reporting
CFA Digital Library / digitallibrary.cfa.vic.gov.au
Members' skills records are currently being realigned to the new Training Pathways as part of the redevelopment of the Learning Hub.
The course catalogue in the Learning Hub has now been realigned to the structure of our new Training Pathways.
We are now working to migrate members’ skills records so they also align with these pathways.
Key changes:
- The naming conventions of our Skills* will be updated to reflect the new Skill naming conventions
- Competency training that members have completed will be added to their Skills list
- The organisation of the Skills list will be adjusted to differentiate between Skills and Units**, and will be easier to navigate
- Endorsements will be added to the Skills list
*Skills indicate that you are operational in an activity. There is more than one way to get a skill and some skills expire. **Units are an indication that you have completed a particular training course.
This work will happen progressively over the next few months.
Reporting in the LMS - Fire Danger Period preparation
We are aware that some reports in the LMS are not working as they should – particularly those tracking members’ pre-season preparation activities including currency in Tree Hazard Awareness and the annual Entrapment Drill.
We are currently working to rectify these issues as well as determine which reports in the LMS are required to support brigades and regional teams with reporting on these mandatory operational requirements.
While this work is expected to take some time, a workaround has been developed that will allow brigades to report on these important training requirements in the meantime.
Accessing the report through Power BI
A report, available through Power BI, is accessible to brigade captains, Brigade Training Officers and Group Training Officers, and BASOs to identify member currency with the Chief Officer’s pre-season training and preparation requirements.
This report will replace the previous Fire Danger Period report available via the Learning Hub until we have rectified the current reporting issue. The report will be updated approximately every two days.
We encourage you to use the available report to support your brigade’s preparation for the fire season.
If you have any feedback on the Learning Hub redevelopment please submit it through our Training feedback portal, and if you come across any issues, please log it with the ICT Service Desk.
