June Volunteer Forum takes flight at Somerville
It was up, up and away at Somerville for the June Volunteer Forum as members in attendance had more toys than a Pixar movie at their disposal.
With a live drone feed highlighting CFA’s RPAS (Remote Piloted Aircraft System) program, viewers were treated to a zoomed in focus on new and updated equipment.
The forum also included a live tour of the new Next Gen Pumper, full detail about the BA Swap and Go pilot and roll out, live glove fittings and celebration of the 50th CFA brigade to come online with Fire Medical Response (FMR) capability.
Host DCO Garry Cook AFSM and Somerville Captain Josh Caron kicked off proceedings outlining some of the initiatives Somerville brigade undertake throughout their community, including a calendar initiative that works as a great fundraiser while being an excellent community education tool.
Somerville leaders Rebecca Cagliarini and Renee Jones shared their leadership journey and discussed the reinvigorated Juniors program at the brigade. And the Juniors didn’t miss out either – firing hot questions at Garry during Q&A.
