Discover new updates to search
You can now view all groups in a district
Several improvements have been made to enhance the performance of search on CFA’s digital platforms and make it easier for members to find what they’re looking for.
Check out the recent improvements below.
- The blurb that pops up when you hover your mouse over a search result title is less intrusive but still provides the information from the body of the result. This is useful when the keyword (which is bolded) doesn’t appear in the description below the website title and URL to help you decide which result to click on, as per below.

- You can now view all the brigades in a group, and all the groups in a district. On the group or brigade card (in Contact Search) there is a link to the right: “view all brigades in this group” or “view all groups in this district”, as per below.

- When you “view all brigade/group members” this is now displayed in alphabetical order (except within brigades, where the captain is listed first).
- Search will now honour the use of wildcard searches. An asterisk (*) can be used to replace single or multiple characters in a search term. It is often used for alternative spellings and variations. In the example below the query behaviour* will find the words behaviour, behaviours, behavioural, etc, as per below.

- We’ve also improved the relevance in Contact Search so if you misspell a name, the desired result will still come high up in the results. There is also improved relevance in Content Search for curations, acronyms, definitions and so on.
