Delivering Truck Time now live on the Learning Hub
The 30 to 45-minute eLearning module 'Delivering Truck Time' for our new children’s program Truck Time is now available on the Learning Hub.
Truck Time is a hands-on fire truck and equipment experiential program for children. Using hands-on activities such as exploring fire trucks and hose play, brigades can help children and young people to become more familiar with CFA fire trucks, including their equipment and purpose.
By educating them about firefighting and the role of CFA members, Truck Time could inspire children's curiosity and encourage them to join the next generation of firefighters.
Also, by building positive relationships with the community the program might be a first step for children and their families to learn more about fire safety.
Truck Time can take place at community events, school festivals or fetes or other special event days, fire station open days or during school hours. When delivered in school hours, it should be delivered on a different day to the Fire Wise Kids program.
Members participating in Truck Time need to hold a current Working with Children Check and have completed the below eLearning modules 'Delivering Truck Time' and 'Child Safety – playing your part'.
