As a member of the Champions of Change Gender Inclusive PPE & PPC Working Group, Chief Officer Jason Heffernan invites members to contribute to a project: Making PPE/PPC Fit for Everyone, which is being led by the Fire and Emergency Champions of Change Group.

CFA has been a vocal proponent in this forum about the critical importance of PPE&C that is inclusive and appropriate for all genders and as part of the Group is working collectively with fire and emergency services organisations to identify key barriers being faced when accessing gender inclusive and fit-for-purpose PPE/PPC.

CFA members can share their experiences and insights by completing a confidential online survey, which is open until 26 September 2024. Members have been invited to complete the survey via the fortnightly Member eNews and the monthly Our CFA Our Future update.

The results from the survey, consultations and further research will be collated into a final report that will be shared with all members identifying the practical actions that ensures PPE/PPC is accessible, functional, gender-inclusive and meets diverse physiological and cultural requirements.
