CFA's 'one-stop-shop' Service Catalogue is here
The CFA Service Catalogue (the Catalogue) for the first time launches a critical initiative of the Operating Model Program aimed at establishing clear and accepted services for delivery across CFA.
In the words of Andrew Andreou, Head of Community Infrastructure, Fire Risk Research and Community Preparedness, “The CFA Service Catalogue is a one-stop-shop that contains relevant information on services CFA undertakes, who performs key tasks and a comprehensive list of legislation, guidance and other relevant information. It is a valuable resource document that I will use on a regular basis”.
The development of the Catalogue has enabled all of CFA’s services to be captured in one place, making it easier for CFA members to understand what CFA delivers and how it relates to our roles, CFA's mission, and priorities.
“The development of a service catalogue will ensure that the whole of our organisation will have a common understanding of the critical work we do to keep communities safe and the vital support required to ensure we can deliver our services. This work goes a long way to explain the key elements to all of our services both internally and externally”, says Rohan Luke, Deputy Chief Officer, Operational Doctrine and Training.
The value of the Catalogue is its integration into key CFA process such as: strategy setting, business planning, budgeting, risk management, and financial reporting. Coralie Hadingham, Manager Planning and Performance, Strategic Services shares how the Catalogue is already being considered, “The service catalogue will be applied to many elements of the CFA’s Planning and Performance Framework and is being applied in budget and business planning and the review and refresh of our 10-year strategy at its mid-point”.
“It will be super exciting to see the service catalogue come to life in CFA. Its use will ensure we are all consistent in the way we refer to and consider CFA’s services. I feel that it will also help to ensure the vast breadth of activity undertaken by CFA in delivering on our mission and strategic goals is more frequently recognised”, says Coralie.
This is a living document; it is therefore anticipated that a need will exist to revisit it as we progress through the Operating Model initiatives to ensure the final Catalogue is reflective of who we are and what we do.
We wish to thank all the individuals and teams that committed their time and knowledge to this initiative, without whom creating this document would not have been possible.
