CFA joins emergency services partners to celebrate International Women's Day
CFA's cohort at the annual Life Saving Victoria International Women's Day event
CFA continues to proudly support and participate in International Women’s Day (IWD) events alongside our emergency service partners, highlighting the valuable contributions women make across the sector.
This week, Life Saving Victoria hosted a breakfast to celebrate the contributions of volunteer, staff and community members. A panel of women leaders from emergency response, aquatic leadership and lifesaving discussed practical strategies to remove barriers for women and girls.
CFA members were invited to attend this event to celebrate the partnership we share in delivering programs that support and promote gender equality.
This year’s Emergency Services Foundation (ESF) IWD forum brought together representatives from CFA, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, SES, FRV and DEECA for a day of shared learning and inspiration.
A key feature of this event is the presentation of Diversity and Inclusion awards, which is dedicated to recognising and celebrating leading practice in promoting inclusion and gender diversity amongst ESF’s 12 member agencies.
The categories for these awards include Inclusivity Initiative, Women’s Equality Initiative and Diversity and Inclusion Champion.
This year, CFA submitted three nominations for Women's Equality initiatives and two nominations in recognition of Diversity & Inclusion Champions.
We are thrilled that these nominations were considered for these awards, as not only does this demonstrate CFA’s achievements in inclusive emergency management, but it also reinforces CFA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion into everything we do and ensuring our services meet the needs of all communities.
Congratulations to the following Award recipients:
Together with our emergency services partners, CFA remains committed to championing inclusion, recognising achievements and building a culture where all women, volunteers and staff, can thrive.
Happy International Women’s Day.
