Brigades back Foodbank Victoria callout
Crews from Bulla and Hastings brigades have rallied their members and communities, collecting vital non-perishable food donations for those in need.
Foodbank Victoria is running an emergency food drive throughout August after becoming critically low on food stocks.
Donations from the community will help restock their shelves to continue to provide meals to 65,000 people every day.
Hastings Fire Brigade collected a wealth of non-perishable food items at their station within a week of putting out the call.
Supplies were loaded into the forward command vehicle, and firefighters Jonathan Rendell and Catriona Harding made the trip up to Foodbank's Yarraville facility to deliver the goods.

The Bulla community also delivered in response to the callout, with Bulla brigade members dropping off 51 bags of groceries – a while tanker full – to the Yarraville collection point.
Bulla captain Elvis Crook said it wouldn’t have been possible without the community coming together to donate.
“A shout out to our members too who dedicated a lot of time this week to make it happen,” he added.
